Goodson Recreation Center

Goodson is everything you're looking for in a local recreation center - and so much more. Swim, run, bike, lift, hit the courts, take a class, explore your creativity, hone your skills or discover new ones. You can do it all.

And when you're ready for an outdoor adventure, the High Line Canal Trail and deKoevend Park are a few steps away.

Recreation Center Safe Return

The Goodson, Lone Tree and Sheridan Recreation Centers are open.  SSPRD is committed to meeting and exceeding all government mandates to minimize the spread of COVID-19 for both participants and staff. Enhanced disinfection practices, staff screening processes and additional measures have been implemented.

Monday - Friday, 6 am - 830 pm
Saturday - Sunday, 8 am - noon

Reservation Update: Reservations are no longer required for general workouts and indoor pool leisure/open swim. Beginning August 3, reservations will also be discontinued for lap swim. Reservations will continue for group fitness until further notice.  See below for more detail.

The recreation centers are open with the following guidelines:

  • The Goodson Recreation Center is currently open for general workouts, aquatics offerings and drop-in group fitness .
    • Get additional information and guidelines for aquatics here and group fitness here. Information regarding swim lessons can be found here.
    • Check the catalog for additional registration based programs.
  • Reservations are required for group fitness available 24 hours in advance online here.  Capacities are limited to ensure compliance with COVID-19 guidelines. Click here for instructions on how to make an online reservation.
  • Drop-in pickleball is available during scheduled sessions.  Pickleball is on a first come, first serve basis with limited capacities.  Doubles play will be held and players will rotate in if courts are full.  Players must provide their own equipment.
    • Goodson:  Mondays 3-6pm
    • Lone Tree:  Tuesdays 12:30-3:30pm
    • Sheridan:  Monday-Friday 11:30 am-3 pm
    • Check online gym schedules here for up-to-date offerings.
  • Drop-in gym use is permitted while other programs and events are not scheduled.  Use must be limited to individual play or play with those of the same household.  Guests must provide their own equipment.  Pick-up games or group play is not permitted, unless organized leagues by SSPRD. 
  • Showers and lockers are available on a very limited basis.  Guests are encouraged to come workout/pool ready which means dressed (and showered for pools) to participate with a filled water bottle.  Drinking fountains will be limited to bottle fillers only.
  • The following are not currently available: steam rooms, hot tubs, drop-in childcare, drop-in pottery, or drop-in gymnastics.
  • Appropriate facial coverings/masks, covering the nose and mouth, are required inside the facility.  Masks must be worn at all times with the following exceptions:
    • Those ages 10 and younger.
    • Those in the pool. Masks cannot be worn in the water.
    • Those completing exercise where a mask may interfere with their respiratory function.
  • All guests must maintain six feet of distance from others in the facility.  Equipment will be spaced out and some equipment may be unavailable to meet this requirement.
  • No cash will be allowed. Credit/debit cards for daily drop-in payment and admission punches will accepted.
  • Monthly and annual passes were activated June 15.  All other passes (SilverSneakers, RenewActive, Silver&Fit) and punches will immediately be available for use, including daily admission purchases.  Passes and punches are non-refundable.
    • Monthly passes were paused upon facility closures.
    • Annual passes will be extended the same number of days facilities were closed.
  • Anyone who is sick or has symptoms of COVID-19 should stay home.
  • Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult guardian.
  • Guests who fail to follow guidelines and staff direction may be asked to leave and refunds will not be issued.

Daily admission and passes include use of pool, gym, weight room, cardio and circuit equipment, racquetball courts, track, and drop-in fitness classes. Specialty programs and services (e.g. martial arts, personal training, dance classes and swim lessons) are available for an additional fee.

To receive Resident rates, you must have a valid South Suburban ID card.
Household consists of two adults and three children up to the ages of 17 living at home.  Additional child options are available for additional fees.

*Monthly passes require auto-debit sign-up, this may be canceled at any point with 30 days written notice.  Two month minimum required.

**Annual passes may be paid in full or auto-debited over the course of three consecutive monthly payments.  Annual passes from Goodson, Buck and Lone Tree are the only passes valid at SSPRD outdoor pools.

Aquatics area

Whether you want to swim laps, take an aquatics class, or take a break from the stresses of life, Goodson is the place for you. The indoor pool area features:

Children 5 and under must be accompanied by a guardian (age 16+) in the water at all times.
Children 6-9 must be actively observed by a guardian (age 16+) unless they are a “non-swimmer” in which they need to be accompanied by a guardian in the water at all times.

The Goodson Gymnastics Center is an 8,000+ square foot, top-of-the-line gymnastics facility with equipment for the youngest of tumblers to the most advanced competitors.

Gymnastics programs offer unstructured drop-in gymnastics time. Whether your child is interested in gaining extra practice time, trying gymnastics for the first time or just burning off extra energy, this is a great option.  Specific times are available for parent-tot customers as well as for all ages.  We encourage you to call ahead to reserve a spot for child(ren) at 303.798.2476. Trained staff supervises only. Instruction or structured activities are available in our gymnastics classes.
