South Suburban Summer Nights 2017
Ah, cool summer nights. Who doesn’t like spending time in Colorado’s great outdoors under a starlit sky? Or staying up late to spend time playing with family and friends? At South Suburban, just because the sun's going down that doesn't mean that summer fun has to end.
Below are a few "after dark" activities around the District for you to explore.

NEW! Native Stories from the Stars
Sat., July 29, 7:30 - 9 pm, South Platte Park
From constellations to planets, stories from the stars span all times and cultures. Join an experienced storyteller around the campfire for Native American stories from the stars. Refreshments included. All ages.

Perseids Meteor Shower
Sat., Aug 12, 8 - 10 pm, Carson Nature Center
Join us for the biggest cosmic light show of the summer! We'll look for meteors while enjoying a relaxing evening outside after the park is closed. Campfire, s'mores and other refreshments included. Bring a lawn chair. Ages 6 and up.
Cost: Youth Resident $5; Youth Nonresident $8; Adult Resident: $7; Adult Nonresident $12; Resident Family $25; Nonresident Family $35.
HawkQuest at Night
Tues., Aug. 15, 6:30-8 pm, South Platte Park
Watch a trained hawk swoop past you during the Western Welcome Week event. Get close-up views of live eagles, owls, and falcons. All ages welcome.
South Platte Park offers numerous opportunities throughout the year for families to explore the Park after Dark, like our Full Moon Walks. But register early - they fill up fast!
Hudson Gardens Concerts
Sun evenings, Jun 4 - Sep 3, The Hudson Gardens & Event Center
70’s, 80’s, & 90’s Rock. Classics. Blues. Country. From Michael McDonald to The B-52s, this summer's concert series lineup is one not to miss! For all ages.
Cost: Ticket prices vary by the performer; typically between $20 - $50 for adults and $10 - $40 for kids.
FREE Summer Beats at RidgeGate
Jun 15, & July 20; 5 - 8 pm, Prarie Sky Park
Kick start the beginnings of your weekend with a free concert in the park with the RidgeGate Summer Beats. Full of entertainment, outdoor fitness activities, food trucks, art activities and fun for the whole family to enjoy. Bring lawn chairs, blankets and all of the kids.
Family Night at Creativity Lab
Jul 14 & Aug 18, 6:30 -7:30 pm at The Creativity Lab, Sheridan Recreation Center
Spend an evening being creative with your family! Each month features a different project for the whole family to try. For all ages.
Cost: Resident $16; Nonresident $19 per family
Friday Nite Extreme
First Fri of every month, 6:30 - 10:30 pm, Family Sports Center
Experience extreme fun with laser tag, climbing wall, bumper cars, ice skating and more! For ages 6-13.

Parent's Night Out
Third Fri of every month, 6 - 9 pm, Goodson Recreation Center
Enjoy a night out while your kids are safe and entertained as they participate in Gymnastics, play games and enjoy free swim in the indoor pool and explore their creativity in our art studio. For ages 5-12.

Glow Ball Mini Golf
Thu nights, 8 - 10 pm through August 17, Colorado Journey Miniature Golf
Play mini-golf in the dark with lighted golf balls and holes for an entertaining summer night. The main lights will be turned off, the course will be lit with LED flag poles and LED course markers, and multiple colors of glow-stick golf balls will be available for your round!
Cost: Regular mini golf admission, plus $1 per person. Glow merchandise is available for purchase
