Each month, the South Suburban Public Art Committee selects local artists to display their work at District recreation centers and selects one artist quarterly for an exhibit at the Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel. Art displays at these facilities are intended to support and promote South Suburban's mission to enrich the lives of all its residents and encourage a legacy of art to be enjoyed and appreciated.

Name:  Rosanne Juergens
Residence:  Centennial
Medium:  Photography
Collection: Rosanne’s exhibit is titled Quiet and/or Astonishing Moments in Nature. Her trip to Nebraska in August 2017 to record the once in a lifetime American total solar eclipse also rewarded her with a shot of a cowboy and his two dogs in the sunflower prairie and a quiet moment to reflect on the awesome spectacle she had just seen in the sky. Other images are from White Sands National Monument and the Colorado high country.
On display at: Lone Tree Recreation Center, February 1 – 28, 2018

Name: Matthew Hamer
Residence: Littleton
Medium: Clay Hangings
Collection: Using a mixture of tools and techniques, Matt creates long, almost flat, works of clay out of Dover, porcelain and chestnut. Matt blends different textured clay to create multi-colored works that look like one solid piece. Recently, he has started adding paint to his art.
On display at: Goodson Recreation Center, February 1 – 28, 2018

Name: Dick Gallagher
Residence:  Lakewood
Medium: Painting
Collection:  The exhibit titled Inked Car Art displays vintage cars and trucks from many manufacturers in street scenes or individually in gouache paint and India ink.  Inherent in the street scenes are small town images from Dick’s youth.
On display at: Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel, January 2 – March 31, 2018
