On October 10, South Suburban Parks and Recreation Board of Directors directed staff to partner with Highlands Ranch Metro District to construct an 18-hole disc golf course at the West Fork Open Space in Highlands Ranch. West Fork Open Space is located west of S. Broadway between Plaza Dr. and Highlands Ranch Pkwy.
While we are moving forward with the partnership, the project has not been approved. There are a number of steps that first must be taken, including appropriation of funds by South Suburban and Highlands Ranch Metro District in their 2019 budgets, the application of a Great Outdoors Colorado Grant to assist in funding the project, course design and land development approvals from Highlands Ranch and Douglas County. These steps will continue over the next several months, with the goal of being under construction in spring 2019.
South Suburban is excited about this partnership with Highlands Ranch Metro District to provide a quality 18-hole course in the south metro area. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
