Youth Commission

The South Suburban Youth Commission gives teens in grades 7 - 11 the opportunity to become involved in their community and in South Suburban events and activities. Commissioners have the chance to become creative leaders by organizing fundraisers, hosting service projects and partaking in fun activities with their peers. 

Volunteer Activities

The Youth Commission's service projects around the community include:          

 
 
  • Volunteering at The Angie Vasquez Food For Thought Power Center (see above)             
  • Making Valentine's for our veterans (see above)                     
  • Volunteering at the Gracefull Cafe in Littleton
  • Making 200 sack lunches distributed to the homeless
  • Hosting Children’s Kindness Network programs at Ralph Moody Elementary School in Littleton
  • Hosting a trail clean up along the Mary Carter Greenway
  • Hosting  a Prom for Senior Citizens at The Inn

The commissioners also assist employees in many South Suburban events and activities:

In addition to fundraising and volunteering, everyone has a chance to interact with fellow commissioners on outings to connect and establish bonding relationships.

Important Information

Meetings
The Commission meets 6 - 7:30 pm once a month on the first Tuesday of January through October at the South Suburban Sports Complex, 4810 E County Line Road in Littleton. These meetings will be in person, as conditions allow, with the option to request to attend virtually. For meeting notices, visit the South Suburban Board Docs page.

Charter and Application
Applications for the commission must be completed by October 1 of each year for the following year. To learn more about the commission, check out its Charter and Application.
